Gracias por su visita (souvenir migratorio)

This project: "Thanks for your visit: The migrant souvenir" seeks to generate installation pieces about the fragility of migration. This investigation discusses migration from plastic results and metaphors of those daily transgressions to the migrant.

 

When I arrived in Madrid, the bar napkins that said "Gracias por su visita (Thanks for your visit)" caught my attention. It seemed like a unique souvenir: someone had cared to provide a design for this object, something so disposable and small. These napkins became an obsession that: thank you for your visit, which, ironically, being a migrant is just a welcome that deep down is not inviting you to stay.
